Atahi II
- 1999 APHA jet black and white tobiano stallion. You can
tell by his name how this spectacular young stallion has
been evaluated! "Atahi II" is Big, Black, and Beautiful! For twenty-six
years the name "Atahi" had belonged to one horse only! I added
a 'II' after the name to describe just how perfect this young
stud is! He is 70% black and 30% white. His markings are fantastic,
and his conformation is faultless! He has an exceptionally
sweet disposition. He is a double grandson of "Atahi". "Atahi
II" is the best balanced, highest quality black and white stallion
of his age I've ever seen. I feel he will produce the next (fifth)
generation of successful, sound, beautiful, Paint horses at Karen
Griffith Farms.
He is by "Ebony
Heart" (APHA jet black stallion-outstanding own son of "Atahi",
AHSA Champion Sire) out of "Win
My Heart" (APHA dark bay and white, homozygous, tobiano
mare-one of "Atahi's" best daughters). Keep in mind that the great
horses like Leo, Wimpy, etc., etc., were produced by this half
brother, half sister mating of prepotent, genetically correct
sires. We waited 20 years to line breed "Atahi" offspring. I wish
we had begun sooner, but I'm old fashioned, and wanted to breed
to a variety of mares and make sure there were no 'fluke' genes
there to crop up. You've probably heard the old saying....."You
could breed that horse to a hay wagon and make a race horse! "
Well, "Atahi" has proven to be one of those genetically superior
stallions. With "Atahi II's superb genetics, absolutely flawless
conformation, willing disposition, and beautiful coloring, he
should stamp his offspring with all of the outstanding qualities
that Karen Griffith Farms has worked so diligently to achieve
over the last 30 years. Breeding fee $750.
"Atahi
II" is not available for outright purchase, but we will begin
to sell reserved breeding shares this year. To obtain syndication/price
information, contact Karen Griffith, at Karen Griffith Farms,

If fancy
Pony Hunters or really athletic Sport Ponies are "your thing",
"KG Mirage" is the
stallion you should investigate. He is a beautiful, bright
chestnut and white tobiano Paint / Pinto, has the prettiest head
and neck you'll ever see, is very refined while maintaining substantial
bone, and has the conformation and movement to model. "Mirage"
is beautiful under saddle, and has a very sweet disposition.
(In the winter he is pastured with three stallions and three geldings.)
K G Mirage should put a wonderful stride on your small and medium
pony mares, and will be a lovely cross on your Large Pony Hunter,
Dressage Pony, and Sport Pony mares. He stands 14 hands. His full
sister, "KG Masquerade"
, was always in the ribbons on the Canadian, "A" large
pony hunter circuit. "KG Mirage" is a 1994 stallion
by "Halloween" (APHA), descendant of nine AQHA Hall
of Fame horses, out of "Sugar Blues" (APHA full sister
to "Atahi"), AHSA Champion Sire. If you are wanting
a great moving, fancy boy to add some color to your Welsh, Hunter
Pony, Sport Pony, or Connemara type mares, "K G Mirage"
should be your stallion of choice! Breeding fee $500.

K G Raven
Heart - 1995 APHA jet black and white tobiano stallion. By
"Ebony Heart" (APHA full brother to American Horse Show Association
Champion, "Bedazzle"), and out of "Steal My Heart" (APHA). "Raven"
is line-bred "Atahi" and it shows! He is the stallion we've been
awaiting to fill "Atahi's" shoes. This outstanding boy
has perfect legs with plenty of bone and great feet. He has a
gorgeous head with a star, stripe, and snip, large dark "Atahi"
eyes, and a very elegant neck. His topline is strong, tying into
a beautiful hip, and he has a wonderful slope to his shoulder.
"Raven's" movement is fluid and reaching. His markings are 60/40
(black/white), and are beautifully placed. He is a lovely sight
under saddle. A recent customer, who was stunned by his beauty,
described him simply as "A work of art!"
"Raven Heart"
is smart, athletic, and classy! Being line-bred "Atahi", he should
stamp his get with these same exceptional qualities. He's the
"do-it-all" kind of horse that "makes a living" for the people
around him. "K G Raven Heart's" book will be limited to 20 outside
mares. Breeding fee $750.
NEWS FLASH!!!
.....All of Raven's foals to date have been loud tobianos out
of solid mares. If Raven's future foals are half as good as these,
his offspring are going to be the Paints to beat in the new millennium!!
"K G Raven
Heart" will be syndicated this year. This will allow discriminating
breeders to benefit from this outstanding individual's superb
genetics and ability. For detailed information on obtaining breeding
shares of "Raven Heart", interested parties can contact Karen
Griffith Farms - Phone: (740)-992-5782, E-mail: griffith@frognet.net
For twenty-five
years, every male horse sold from Karen Griffith Farms was sold
as a gelding. Only 3 "Atahi"
offspring were ever left intact to stand at stud in the United States.
This is the public's opportunity to reap the benefits of thirty
years of selective breeding here at Karen Griffith Farms, developing
horses that are willing, sound, athletic, and classy. In keeping
with the tradition of limiting production to maintain the lucrative
marketability of this exceptional stock, the book of all stallions
will be limited to twenty mares each.
For the reining/cutting
enthusiast, "K G Braveheart" is an outstanding
choice! His pedigree traces back to all of the good foundation
'cow' bred horses. "Brave" is a 1996 APHA bright chestnut
and white tobiano. He is by "Ebony Heart" (APHA black
stallion), and out of "Touch My Heart" (APHA chestnut
and white tobiano mare). "K G Braveheart" is one of
the best made, most beautifully marked stallions I've seen in
the United States in years. His legs are wonderful (straight,
plenty of bone, and great feet), his body is well muscled with
proper angles to be a superior athlete, and his graceful neck
and head set off an outstanding package! To top off these bold
physical qualities, he has a sweet, inquisitive attitude. The
kind that begets a stallion who is willing, easy to handle, and
develops into a brilliant performer and breeder. "K G Braveheart"
is line-bred "Atahi", and should mark his get with all
of the outstanding traits we've been working to achieve over the
last thirty years here at Karen Griffith Farms. I expect "K
G Braveheart" to be one of the premier stallions of the this
century! Breeding fee $500.
1997 marked
the first year that young stallion prospects from Karen Griffith
Farms were offered for sale to the public. I have, in addition
to the horses listed above, four outstanding young
stallions that would be an asset to anyone's breeding program.
Dixie Heart
- 1996 APHA dark bay and white tobiano stallion. By "Close To
Heart" (APHA), out of "Skips Dixie" (APHA) - (Click
for pedigree).
If you're looking for an exquisitely marked, world caliber
stallion, this is a fellow you really need to see! He is 65% dark
bay and 35% white, with his color placed beautifully. He has a
lovely head with a strongly pronounced jaw and a beautiful shallow
mouth. His eyes are dark with a perfectly centered blaze. This
young stallion's conformation is flawless! "Dixie Heart's" pedigree
boasts countless World and National Champions on both sides! You've
already heard a bit about his sire, "Close to Heart", and his
outstanding working blood, but to top it off, his dam, "Skips
Dixie", is an own daughter of the late, great Quarter Horse
sire "Sir Raleigh"! "Sir Raleigh" was the sire of multiple;
AQHA World Champions (in both Halter and Performance), AQHA Champions,
Superior Halter Horses, and Superior Performance Horses (in Western
Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Working Hunter, Pleasure Driving,
Hunter Hack, Western Riding, and Trail). He sired countless Register
Of Merit horses. "Sir Raleigh" was also the sire of "Skips Sierra
Nick", the winner of the 'Copenhagen/Skoal Superhorse' award at
the AQHA World Show. (A 13 page production record on "Sir Raleigh"
is available upon request.) This outstanding stallion prospect
is one of those few horses in the nation that really has
the ability to sire winners in both the halter and a variety
of performance classes. He should make an outstanding reining
horse, with the great looks to "knock-the-socks-off" the
judges, and the "cow-blood" to easily get his points in cutting
or team penning. It's seldom you find all of these qualities in
one package! Reasonably priced at $15,000. Breeding
fee $500.
Stealin
Hearts, a 2000 bay and white tobiano stallion, should sire
a really fancy Large Pony Hunter, and will be the ultimate Sport
Pony stallion. He's under 14-2 hands, and is a really
fancy boy in his movement, markings, and conformation. You'll
like what you see! Breeding fee $500.
I have three
more stallions that are not yet on the website. I will be getting
photos and descriptions online soon!
Give
me a call and tell me about your mare. I can help you to match
her with the stallion that will let her produce the offspring
for which you are searching!
